At GLAMM, we are not only about creating fantastic fashion pieces that are inspired by our mother land. We also care deeply about being a vehicle of blessing to the lives of the less privileged on the continent at a grass root level.
We give back in two ways:
1 - All our fabrics are purchased from Merchants in Africa, and our production facilities are in Nigeria. In this way, we are supporting local African businesses.
2 - We will donate $1 from every item sold to a grassroot charity organization benefiting Africa. We will pick a different charity organization to support each quarter.
The dream to own a business was not just about owning a business. It is also greatly about having a vehicle by which we can bless others.
Organization being supported for quarter of July - September 2017
The targeted organization for third quarter of 2017 is The Ozanam House in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Ozanam House is a rehabilitation home founded in 1995 for young girls, women, and children who have been considered "unwanted". Most of the house occupants are victims of rape and abuse. Many of them are pregnant as a result of rape, and have been disowned by their families, or have left home due to the stigma of rape in Nigeria. The home is managed by the Catholic church through The daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. The home receives some funding from the Catholic church, but is highly dependent on donations.
